SAFETY OF ORTHO-K METHOD

First of all, the Systematic Review is the most scientific, evidence-based evaluation by a complete search of the medical literature to answer some clinical questions, which This situation is: Is Ortho K safe in the treatment of nearsightedness, dystopia, farsightedness? Therefore, parents can be assured of the scientific and objective nature of this assessment.
This systematic review used the results of numerous clinical studies published in well-known medical journals such as MEDLINE, EMBASE CNKI, CQVIP, and WAN FANG DATA (1980 to April 2015). The type of research assessed also varies from case reports, patient surveys, physicians, retrospective or prospective studies, and even very strictly regulated clinical studies. Ortho K glasses are rated as air-permeable contact lenses.
The results of a systematic review of 170 studies mentioned above provide sufficient evidence that Ortho-K is a safe option for the treatment of near, farsightedness, astigmatism, and slows the growth in children. The risk of corneal conjunctivitis in patients wearing Ortho K glasses is similar to that in any other patient and there is no change in the corneal endothelial cell layer.
The assessment also highlights the importance of using the right lens for the patient, cleaning the glasses during treatment, the patient's adherence to treatment, and prompt treatment of complications if any.
In addition, Ortho-K has been approved for widespread use by the FDA - the US Food and Drug Administration in 2002, which means that Ortho K has undergone a lot of laboratory studies, clinical studies. on real patients and must meet the most stringent FDA requirements when approving any method or drug that is widely treated is patient safety.
