CONJUNCTIVITIS (Pink Eye)
Conjunctivitis (Pinkeye) is shown by redness and lots of rheum, usually redness in one eye first, then spread through the second eye.
Eye rheum can be transparent or yellow mucus. Pinkeye may be accompanied by subconjunctival hemorrhage or pseudo-conjunctiva, lymphadenopathy, sore throat, mild fever, and fatigue. Sensations in the eyes include burning, scratchiness, itchiness, or even mild pain and blurred vision transient.
Causes
The most common infectious causes are viral, spreading relatively quickly. Most cases disappear after 7-14 days.
Symptoms
Conjunctivitis is shown by redness and lots of rheum, usually redness in one eye first, then spread through the second eye. Eye rheum can be transparent or yellow mucus. Sensations in the eyes include burning, scratchiness, itchiness, or even mild pain and blurred vision transient.
Treatment
Wear sunglasses, use isotonic saline drops (NaCl 0.9%) or artificial tears. You can also use antibiotic drops to prevent multiple infections. Cold compresses will help reduce swelling and bring comfort. Use clean cotton to dry your eyes, keep hygiene, wash your hands with antibacterial soap. Do not self-use eye drops containing "Dexamethasone" or "Oriental" medicine because it can easily cause serious, irreversible complications in the eye.
Prevention
The intermediaries transmission is the tears of the patient with conjunctivitis (tears containing pathogenic microorganisms).
The disease is transmitted through tiny secretory particles, when the patient coughs or has a runny nose, through contaminated objects (doorknobs, phones, face towels, washbasins) contaminated water (e.g., swimming pool water). Therefore, to prevent disease, you should avoid contact with objects susceptible to pathogens (the tears containing pathogenic microorganisms of the patient). Washing hands with antibacterial soap is a beneficial preventative measure. Looking at each other does not spread red eye disease. Currently, there are no preventive eye drops.
